Is there any downtime?
The procedure is very quick, taking around 45 minutes. Swelling and bruising can occur. Bruising may be present for 7-10 days and swelling depends on the location and product used.
How long will it take to see results?
A clinical study involving 15 patients treated with polynucleotides found that, after 20 weeks, hydration had improved by 115% and elasticity was increased by 38%. A mice study also found that epidermal thickness increased by more than 50% and collagen was boosted by 47%.
How long will the results last?
Results generally last between 6 and 9 months.
Are there side effects?
Side effects that can occur include redness and swelling, which settles after 1–2 days. Depending on the injection technique used, small papules can also be observed that, again, will settle after a few days.
Can I have this treatment if I have a fish allergy?
Thanks to the intensive purification process (protein is extracted from the product prior to injecting), they have a very low risk of causing an allergic reaction.
