How many CoolSculpting ELITE treatments are usually required?
Treatments plans have the following variables:
- The number of handpieces (applicators) required to cover the treatment area. CoolSculpting ELITE offers seven new body applicators ranging in size from petite to large. The applicator chosen is determined by the size of the fat pad and the area of the body requiring treatment. Often more than one applicator is required to cover the entire treatment area.
- The number of sessions (cycles) required. This is often determined by the volume of the fat pad requiring treatment. Sessions are usually delivered at 6 weekly intervals.
These variables will be discussed in detail at your nurse consultation. You will be given an estimate and personalised body plan for your problematic area.

Following a CoolSculpting ELITE procedure, the body naturally removes the unwanted dead fat cells. This process takes time as enzymes break down the cells into smaller pieces to allow for your white blood cells (macrophages) to remove them permanently from your body.
How does CoolSculpting ELITE work?
CoolSculpting ELITE technology targets stubborn problem areas, cooling the unwanted fat cells to the precise temperature at which the fat within the cell crystallises. Treatment sessions (cycles) in the same area should be scheduled 6 weeks apart.
Is CoolSculpting ELITE Permanent?
CoolSculpting ELITE is a permanent solution to get rid of stubborn subcutaneous fat. Once the unwanted fat cells are frozen and crystalised, they are totally destroyed and gone forever.
The number of fat cells within the area treated will reduce.
However, residual fat cells situated within the treatment area can still swell and increase in volume over time if weight gain occurs in the future.
This can affect visible results and mask the benefits of the procedure.
Hence it is essential that weight and BMI (Body Mass Index) remain consistent throughout the duration of your treatment program to ensure optimal results are visible.
What results can I expect from CoolSculpting ELITE?
An average of approximately 25% fat reduction is seen per treatment, and more than one treatment is often recommended to see optimum results.
Final results are fully visible within 12 weeks, as the body takes time to dispose of unwanted dead fat cells.

Am I suitable for CoolSculpting ELITE?
The ideal candidate for fat reduction with CoolSculpting ELITE is a client within a stone of their ideal or normal body weight.
The client must have enough pinchable fat in order to fit into the applicator.
Most clients are suitable for CoolSculpting ELITE, however, breastfeeding or pregnant mothers are not suitable. Clients suffering from severe Raynaud’s disease or cold urticaria are also not suitable for treatment.
Clients with any of the following rare disorders can not have CoolSculpting:
- Cryoglobulinaemia
- Cold Agglutinin Disease
- Paroxysmal cols heamoglobinuria
Does CoolSculpting ELITE hurt?
CoolSculpting ELITE is a non-surgical / non-invasive treatment with no downtime. Normal activities can be resumed immediately.
The new CoolSculpting ELITE applicators offer a gentler suction than the previous technology, resulting in a more comfortable treatment experience.
You may experience transient discomfort including intense cold /stinging /tingling/aching/or cramping as the treatment begins. This quickly fades as the treatment area becomes numb.
For optimal results, a 2-minute post-treatment massage is required at the end of the procedure. Although this does cause discomfort and is painful, it is short lasting and quickly fades.
